A highlight of the Hatfield Broad Oak calendar is the annual 10k road race. Organised by the PTA&F from the village school it forms an important part of the Flower Festival weekend celebrations.

Licensed by England Athletics it carries a silver grade from the British Association of Road Races.

Rightly so, the village is very proud of this respected race and welcomes the 1500 runners that travel from all over the UK and Europe take part.

The race celebrated its 25 th anniversary in 2010.

The figure of eight course benefits from traffic free roads as it undulates through the village and surrounding countryside. There is also a free to enter 1 mile children's fun run, after the main race. .

For the whole weekend you can enjoy the village flower festival complete with bbq, stalls, children’s entertainment and much more.
