 VILLAGE GREEN NEWS

The Parish Council is pressing ahead with its plans for the superb new village green. The scheme will open up land bounded by the High Street and Dunmow Road to the whole community.

There is a proven demand for a cricket pitch, football pitch,
village green and picnic area, wildlife and nature areas, paths and seating, youth / public shelter. Also proposed are a sports pavilion / Youth / Community facility and event car parking.

Planning permission was granted on 22nd July to use the land for recreation and community use. We are now applying to carry some some levelling works to provide proper pitches for cricket and football. A copy of the planning support documentation is available.

A charitable company, The HBO Village Green Company, is being established to manage the facility on behalf of the community. The parish council and the sports clubs will have director representation, however we also want wider villager representation.
